Any JW, please help- I need just one thing!
by moshe in--the name of a real live (not dead) member of the faithful and discreet slave class- someone who has admitted in public they are one of the f&ds and who can verify they have been providing the "meat in due season" for the governing body.
obviously the gb can't be the f&ds, because they are neither discreet nor do they have a position of servitude- no, they have made it plain they are the bosses over jws and jws have to obey their words, as if jehovah and jesus were speaking them, or else they will get the disfellowshiped.
just one verifiable name will do and how you obtained it.. the governing body claims that the f&ds are directing them and the worldwide work of jws, but they have never proven that they have a f&ds class they communicate with- just have one of the annointed call bethel and ask to speak to one of the gb and see what the switchboard operator does with their call.

I like this approach Moshe. The next time I speak to any JWs I'm going to ask them give me the names of a few of the FDS. Then when they can't I'll ask them how they know they exists.
There were two very old so called annointed Jdubs at the first hall I attended. They were born around 1900 and been in since the early 1920s. They had no input or direct contact with the rule makers in Brooklyn.

The reality for JWs, is that the F&DS story falls into the category of folklore and it has been repeated so much in the publications that JWs have come to accept it as , truth, without requiring any proof.
Not questioning anything is a essential to anyone who want to become or remain a JW. The whole bit about Christ returning, viewing all the religious organization and selecting them because they were faithful and descreet requires a tremendous leap of faith. Even a casual examination of what they were teaching back then and who was in charge would make you realize that Christ would only have chose them if he spent the whole selection process boozing it up with Rutherford.

why are the british always depicted as an evil empire, when in 1812 james madison declared war, the british were defending native american rights, and although the eventual ceasefire was signed in gwent belgium in 1814, and both sides declared victory the only losers were the original owners of the land, displaced onto reservations, the native americans, not much of that in hollywood movies, i'm sorry if i'm being provocative, i'm just not getting many posters on any of my threads, lol!.

Do you ever wonder what the US would be like today if it hadn't fought a revolutionary war against the British? Would it be like Canada, Australia or New Zealand? Not really that bad of places to live. I guess it all depends on your perspective.
When I went to high school what was being taught as US history was far different than what I was taught in grade school. By that time we weren't always the guys in the white hats being attacked by brutal savages. Teachers openly questioned the war in Viet Nam. I had one high school teacher who suggested that the "shot heard around the world" probably came about because the colonist were harassing what were young inexperienced British troops that open fired because they feared for their lives.

Pakistani christian woman sentenced to death
by jean-luc picard inthere was a report on the tv last night about a pakistani christian woman sentenced to death.
for blaspheming the prophet ( mohamed i suppose).. she was working in the fields with two muslims.
it was hot and she had a drink of water.. she offered some to the two muslims but they would not drink from the same cup as a christian.

Thank goodness JWs are not a state religion
Shortly after I left the Watchtower I came to the same conclusion. I think that the leadership of the Watchtower would act pretty much like some of the Muslim fundamentalist leadership does in Muslim countries. After all they think Witnesses who disobey them should be put out and are worthy of death not to mention the rest of the non-jw world they are just itching for God to destroy. It is a good thing only a few people take them seriously and they have no real power.

It's Mothers Day and JW's Are Out In Full Force

the jw's make a concerted effort to get out in the field service magazing peddling work just to shit all over your day of celebration.. i was out getting mothers day flowers for my roomie this morning, and saw literally gobs and gobs of jw's working the area.. .

I remember asking an elder once why we couldn't celebrate Mothers Day or Fathers Day. He said it was because "honor is only supposed to go to Jehovah".
The god of the Watchtower is a big spoiled brat who can't stand it when anyone else gets any attention. Good thing he isn't real.

You're right Sinis. Sept 15 is Mexican Independance day. Cinco de Mayo is more of a California thing. A good reason to drink. The Mexicans won a battle against the French on that day but the French came back and gave them quite a beating. I think it took another 3 years to get rid of them.
